How you make it

  1. Whisk the condensed milk, cocoa, butter and salt together in a cold non-stick saucepan until no lumps of cocoa remain.

  2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a spatula and scraping the base, for 9 to 11 minutes.

  3. Stop when dragging the spatula across the base leaves a clear line that takes a second to close up.

  4. Scrape onto a buttered plate and cool for 3 minutes, then butter your hands and roll teaspoons of the mixture into balls.

  5. Roll each ball in sprinkles and set in small paper cases.
